Enlightening News

Greetings!  First of all, I am doing great!  I have had no back pain since my most recent surgery, the back pain that took me in to see the doctor several years ago.  Secondly, Stanford has done some genetic testing on me and found that I have a gene mutation that increases my risk for cancers, especially the three types I’ve had. Go figure!

Is this good news??? Not really. But it is at least a reason … the why we’ve often asked ourselves.  While each one of my cancers has been a rare type, it is not rare that someone with this mutation gets these rare cancers, and multiple ones at that.

The little bit of good news is that because this has been identified, I qualify for the most thorough type of regular full-body MRI that will now be done on a regular basis.

Back to the best part … we’ve been hiking and traveling … I have no limitations to my physical activity. I have NO PAIN!

For you all who love to learn, you can read about the mutation here: https://medlineplus.gov/lab-tests/tp53-genetic-test/

As always, thank you all for your love, support, and prayers.
